Welcome to Lauzanac – Farmhouse cottages in the Dordogne

isa et thierry 2 2014Isabelle et Thierry JANSSEN
welcome you to Lauzanac, in their 2 self catering cottages.
For a week, a short stay or a long Winter let.

Two farmhouse cottages in the south of the Dordogne.  Called Farmhouse Cottage Les Chênes (The Oaks) and Farmhouse Cottage Le Pigeonnier (The Pigeon House),  each gite has its own secure private swimming pool and can each accommodate from 2 to 8/9 persons. With WIFI.

Situated 3 kilometres from the medieval bastide town of Eymet, near the River Dropt, Lauzanac is within visiting distance of several prehistoric sites such as Lascaux and Les Eyzies, castles such as Lanquais, Beynac and Monbazillac, and medieval towns such as Sarlat, Bergerac and Monpazier.

For a quick view, here is a video made with pictures of our visitors, friends or family. Thank you to everybody for your kind permission.

Spring, my beautiful Spring

As every year, nature awakening is a delight for the eyes and the ears… and Peter’s ears are long and silky despite being almost 30 years old! And although his coat is no longer shiny and his legs not as strong, he is still as gentle and affectionate, much to the delight of both young and old.

We may soon be announcing a big change at the Gîtes de Lauzanac. You will be the first to know. But for now, there are still a few weeks available in Le Pigeonnier from late June to mid-July, and then after August 19th. So if you’d like to enjoy the peace and beauty of the Périgord countryside while being close to the many events and highly popular tourist sites of the Dordogne, don’t hesitate any longer!

Another year to discover the wonders of Sarlat-la-Canéda

I was thinking, well, we know it by heart! But we stopped there anyway, in the historic stronghold of the Périgord Noir, in Sarlat – known as La Canédat! And it was incredible to see all that magnificent heritage gathered there in this corner of the Dordogne.
It was the kind of Sunday stroll we love. A motorbike trip on the day Thierry added another year, bringing him a little closer to a nice round number

You’ll mainly see rooftops standing out against a troubled November sky. These photos were originally intended for our carpenter sons, but they might just give you the urge to go and discover it all for yourself, during your stay in one of our holiday cottages…

Sacha visiting the farm
